Synthetic Musk Fragrances in Water Systems and Their Impact on Microbial Communities

The presence of emerging contaminants in aquatic systems and their potential effects on ecosystems have sparked the interest scientific community with a consequent increase report. Moreover, environment should be assessed through “One-Health” approach since all living organisms are exposed to those at some point several works already reported impact ecological interactions. There wide variety concerning water sources, such as pharmaceuticals, personal care products, house-care nanomaterials, fire-retardants, vast number different compounds indispensable use routine tasks. Synthetic musks examples fragrances used formulation and/or which may potentially cause significant ecotoxicological concerns. However, there is little-to-no information regarding effect synthetic microbial communities. This study reviews musk drinking communities, focus role biofilms systems. this review highlights research needed for better understating non-pharmaceutical populations public health.
